Cross Sitch Lover

If you’re on Instagram and have spotted me on there (@Quilty_as_sin) you may have seen that I’m not just a fan of sewing patchwork quilts, but I also love cross stitch. It’s quite a recent love after I was given a subscription to a cross stitch magazine and I learnt what to do. I was hooked and it really helps me take my mind off things, especially if I’m having a bad day pain wise, or I’m finding a quilt particularly tricky. How I applique a patchwork bee

I recently posted a photo of a bumble bee quilt that I’d made for someone on my Facebook page (Quilty as Sin). In the centre of the quilt was a bee that I had appliqued on to some fabric and then patchworked it into the rest of the quilt. A few people asked me to explain how I did it, so while I was making a new quilt, I took photos as I went through the different stages and hopefully I’ll be able to explain properly how I made it.

Hobbyists are happiest

Did you know that according to research people with at least one hobby are among the happiest in the UK. Keeping busy with something you love doing raises your endorphin levels. Sadly less than thirty per cent of us have cottoned on to this fact, making us a miserable bunch!!! Sew (sic) what are you waiting for pick up your cross stitch, dust off your philately album, retune your piano and get hobbying!
